The Chang Tai Tea Factory was started in the late 1990's by Mr. Chen Shihuai (a tea blender from another producer) and others to produce teas in tradition of the old prerevolution tea houses.  Chang Tai's early products were produced under the registered "Yi Chang" trademark which was a reference to one of the old tea houses.
